Last minute Christmas projects…Nash’s Restaurant

It’s a beautiful, crisp morning here in Lafayette. It’s not even officially winter yet, but I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a cold one when it starts.

I’m wrapping up a couple of drawings to turn into prints… this one is Nash’s, a beloved Italian & Seafood restaurant out in the heart of Broussard. If you’ve never been, you should! It’s a lovely, old home converted into a fine dining restaurant. They have wholesome, hearty meals to warm you up on days like today.

Interestingly, when I lived in Valdosta, Ga, I worked at a restaurant called Giulio’s Greek & Italian Restaurant that looked almost identical inside. Same vibe, same exact antique chairs and tables, similar decor, an old home converted into a family restaurant. So, when I’m feeling a little homesick for Georgia, I pop in at Nash’s. It’s a great spot, super nostalgic and super delicious.

As soon as I finish the drawing, I’ll be adding hints of sunset colors to it. Those soft evening colors always make me smile. Stay tuned for the final version!
