Hello, I’m Melissa and I love to draw! Welcome to my website.

I am an artist who works in a representational manner. The main things I love to draw are; birds, buildings, and people. Most of my artwork is drawn with ink and color added with either watercolor or colored pencil, but sometimes I use marker, pastel, India ink, or liquid acrylic.

I have felt particularly inspired by the architecture and nature here in this area. Lafayette, La has been my home since 2017 and it's made a huge impact on my life and artistic endeavors. I was born and raised in sunny South Florida and spent a lot of time drawing animals and people as a child. When I was in my mid teens, we moved to South Georgia and I eventually studied art at SCAD. Savannah College of Art & Design was a wonderful art school where I learned a lot, particularly about color theory. It was there where I started to touch on the curiosity of drawing buildings and using other media. Honestly, there were tons of beautiful sites and scenes across southern Georgia to draw inspiration from, but it’s really been in southern Louisiana where I've grown the most artistically. 

Now that you know a bit more about me, my aim with this site is to provide you with various ways of connecting with me and with my art. Through my blog you can take a glimpse at current projects.
